Dance Institute of Washington increases inclusivity and diverse representation at every level of the professional ballet and dance industries locally in DC, and through that exemplary effort, impacts racial and economic equity in dance nationally and globally.

This piece represents how beauty comes from within. Even through the rough times we face, we must walk with our head held high, feeling confident that the trials will pass over. There is beauty in our walk, beauty in our talk, and beauty in our name. We must believe it for ourselves; and that starts from within. That self-love. That is the feel good in our soul.

DIW is the leading Black-led dance equity organization in the DMV. We provide an uplifting safe space for dancers of color! We are only able to make an impact because of your continued support.

Ashanté Green coached Nya Cunninham, DIW alum and current Baltimore School of the Arts Student (@thedancer_nya) in a solo choreographed by Green. ⁣ ⁣

DIW students, even former students and alumni, get the best of artistic, academic, and life mentorship. 💪🏾This is part of what makes DIW different, and forms a piece of our #DIWDNA.⁣
